With 20 years’ experience in IT security, Sébastien Pavie is a passionate and experienced sales professional and leader, having managed a number of regions across EMEA with a focus on the Middle East and Africa for the last 10 years. In January 2020, Sébastien took on a new challenge within Thales to refocus the sales team and accelerate the revenue growth of the Data Protection portfolio across the Southern EMEA region with a unique set of solutions to support customers through their digital transformation, cloud adoption, compliance, governance and risk management journey. He strives to bringing substantial value to customers and partners as well as establishing and scaling expert and high performance teams.

Having joined Thales through its acquisition of Gemalto, Sébastien previously led the cyber-security business in the region. He has had over 16 years’ experience in the group, having also held a number of positions during his time at SafeNet – there, he managed sales territories across Europe, and then moved to Dubai in August 2009 to establish SafeNet’s first presence in the Middle East & Africa region. He also brings deep awareness of cultural and working differences across regions; he is fluent in French and English, and has some knowledge of German, Arabic and Thai.

Sébastien can speak to a wide range of IT Security issues, such as cryptography, access control, authentication, anti-piracy, licence management, network and storage security. In particular, he offers deep expertise in data protection, identity protection and digital banking security – particularly in the context of cloud computing, as cloud adoption grows rapidly across the META region.
